Evertton Araújo addresses interest, insists he wants to stay at Flamengo | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Evertton Araújo acknowledged interest from Brazilian and European clubs during this window but said he wants to stay at Flamengo after the 3-0 win over Madureira in the Carioca semi-final on Sunday 22 at the Maracanã.

He partnered De La Cruz in midfield, played 90 minutes and helped secure the victory, giving Flamengo a wide lead for the return match.

Araújo described the attention as recognition of his work, adding that he is very happy at the club this year and still hopes to win many trophies with the team he loves.

Grêmio tracked him early in the year, while West Ham, from England, also made enquiries about his situation, but Flamengo do not intend to negotiate at present.

Under coach Filipe Luís, the midfielder has impressed and earned credit with supporters, with the head coach keen to praise his form.

Flamengo next face Lanús of Argentina in the second leg of the Recopa Sudamericana at the Maracanã on Thursday 26, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.
