Peter Bosz has had a lot to celebrate this week. The former Bayer Leverkusen head coach won the title for a second year in a row at PSV, with this years victory coming before the end of March. However, Bosz is under no illusions as to how fickle football can be. During his time with Borussia Dortmund and Lyon he has known how much pressure a head coach can be under. That is why he was quick to sympathise with under pressure Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.
In an interview with VI, the PSV head coach said ‘At PSV, we win a lot of matches, so there are many moments of luck. I can say that because I have experienced it differently. Both wins and losses take a heavy toll on you. That is why I recognize Arne Slot’s behavior (against Galatasaray, ed.). And I know what Robin van Persie is going through at Feyenoord. Every coach goes through a year like that; it is not pleasant.’
Slot was the last man to get the better of PSV and Bosz when he won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord during the 2022/2023 season. Slot also finished second the following season before leaving for Liverpool, where he then won the Premier League in his first season. However, this season has not gone well for Slot and Liverpool. The club are well off the pace in the Premier League and their only real chance of a trophy is in the Champions League, where they are facing a strong PSG side.
