After a successful first outing as captain in Sandhausen, it is time for the first big Bundesliga clash of the season. David Raum now wears the armband for RB Leipzig, and he is clearly enjoying his new role.

Before kick-off in the Pokal game, the Germany international went and high-fived each of his teammates, gave some rousing words of motivation and led RBL from the front for the first time. "Of course it was different. I had the captain's armband on. Naturally you feel a bit more responsibility for the team and the club," said the 27-year-old.

Now, focus is fully on the Bundesliga opener in Munich. "Everyone's watching this game. We've set ourselves some big goals and are excited for the start of the season," added Raumi.

The Nuremberg-born defender also spoke about how he found out he would be captain, what Germany teammate Joshua Kimmich messaged him to say, and how he is feeling ahead of the huge match against the record champions.
