Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a doubt for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Venezia this weekend.
This according to Italian outlet FCInter1908. They report that the Armenian was not in ideal condition physically in training today, and that a decision on his availability will be made tomorrow.
Inter are preparing to return to Serie A action after the disappointment of the Supercoppa Italiana.
The Nerazzurri travel to Venice to take on newly-promoted Venezia.
And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have to work around a few injuries in selecting his team tomorrow.
First of all, Yann Bisseck will be out. The German picked up a thigh strain during the Supercoppa final against AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Hakan Calhanoglu will also be absent due to a thigh problem of his own. And Francesco Acerbi will also still be on the sidelines.
On the other hand, Benjamin Pavard and Marcus Thuram should both certainly be fit.
But there is another name to add to the potential injury list for Inter, reports FCIN1908.
35-year-old former Roma, Arsenal, and Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also a doubt, according to the outlet.
FCIN1908 report that Mkhitaryan did complete a full training session with the rest of the squad today.
However, the 35-year-old was not at his best.
Therefore, it is possible that Mkhitaryan will not be risked against Venezia on Sunday.
Tomorrow, both the Inter medical and coach staff will assess the Armenian. They will make a decision on his status for Sunday’s match at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.
