Benjamin Pavard is set to return to the Inter Milan starting eleven for Tuesday’s Champions League semifinal second leg against Barcelona.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They report that the 29-year-old is rapidly returning to fitness, and should replace Yann Bisseck in the starting eleven.
Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard missed the first leg of his team’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
The Frenchman suffered an ankle sprain during last weekend’s Serie A clash with Roma. Therefore, he was unable to feature against the Blaugranas.
Yann Bisseck started in place of Pavard in last Wednesday’s thrilling 3-3 draw.
Meanwhile, Pavard also missed out on yesterday’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona. That was hardly surprising.
However, the big question has been whether Pavard will be able to return for the second leg against Barcelona.

Over the last week, Benjamin Pavard has been working desperately to overcome his ankle problem.
Naturally, there are still some doubts about whether the former Bayern Munich defender can get to 100% for Tuesday’s match.
However, reports the Gazzetta, the signs are very positive.
Pavard is back in training. And furthermore, he should be able to complete a full session tomorrow.
Therefore, reports the Gazzetta, Pavard looks certain to be available against Barcelona.
Moreover, the newspaper anticipate, there is every chance that the 29-year-old will even be able to come straight back into the starting eleven.
