Yann Sommer could make his return to the Inter Milan starting eleven for tomorrow’s Champions League showdown with Feyenoord.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Goalkeeper Yann Sommer has been on the sidelines for Inter Milan’s last few matches.
The 36-year-old former Bayern Munich keeper suffered a thumb fracture in training last month. He underwent surgery to correct the problem.
While Sommer has been recovering, Josep Martinez has gotten a run in the Inter starting eleven.
The Spaniard has started against the likes of Genoa, Napoli, and Monza in Serie A. He has also started against Lazio in the Coppa Italia, and the first leg of a Champions League tie against Feyenoord.
But Sommer is getting close to being ready to return as a starter.
The Swiss was already back in the squad for Saturday’s Serie A win over Monza.

However, Sommer did not start that match. He was just on the bench, as former Genoa and RB Leipzig keeper Martinez got another start.
But a return to the starting lineup is now not far away for Sommer.
The Gazzetta report that the 36-year-old could be back in the starting eleven tomorrow.
