Paolo Di Canio feels that Inter Milan “no longer dominate teams” and that Henrikh Mkhitaryan looks “out of gas.”

The last few weeks have not been particularly kind ones for Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri have dropped points in four out of their last six Serie A matches.

There have been draws against AC Milan and Napoli, and losses to Fiorentina and Juventus.

And in the meantime, Inter have also had to deal with a number of injuries. There is a particular sense that the fixture list has really taken its toll on the Nerazzurri.

And that has also become evident in the style of play at times.

The Nerazzurri’s second half against Napoli was a perfect example.

While Inter certainly played with a great physical intensity in that match, they were barely able to get out of their own hand.

That was partly a deliberate decision by the Nerazzurri. They knew that they were hanging on and had to protect their penalty area.

But at the same time, Napoli were also forcing Inter back.

Di Canio: “Inter Milan No Longer Dominate Teams, Mkhitaryan Out Of Gas”

Former Juventus, Lazio, and West Ham United striker Paolo Di Canio commented that “Inter always used to give the feeling that they were dominating team.”

“Or at least, controlling them.”

“But that’s no longer the case,” the former striker noted. “Now. Lautaro and Thuram no longer work together.”

“That had been the case [against Napoli] as well,” Di Canio argued.

“First, Thuram was in form. Then, Lautaro. Now, nobody.”

“Calha looks drained after his injury,” said the former striker. “Mkhitaryan is the one who looks most out of gas out of all of them.”

Di Canio called the match between Napoli and Inter “a battle.”

And he added that “Inter will have two Coppa Italia derbies, and at least two more matches in the Champions League.”

He predicted that “This Inter will allow even more when they’re playing every three days.”
