Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has admitted he wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea made it a three horse race for the title.
The Blues have strengthened their squad this summer, and have added a number of exciting players, especially in attack.
Chelsea will be looking to build on last season where they won two trophies and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in two years.
Chelsea have made a solid start to the season with seven points from a possible nine, and have conceded just one goal in their first three games.
Enzo Maresca’s side were right up there with Liverpool last season, but they fell away during Christmas and New Year, although Gary Lineker thinks Chelsea will go close this campaign.

The expectation this year will no doubt be to continue to close the gap on the teams above, and sustain a challenge for longer, and Hamann feels the Blues could make it a three horse race for the title.
“I expect Arsenal to be the main contender,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea turned it into a three-horse race. They are a dangerous side, capable of winning six, seven, or eight games in a row.
“I don’t believe Manchester City can do that, but Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are the only teams I think are capable of such a run.”
The Stamford Bridge outfit last won the Premier League back in 2017 under Antonio Conte, and whilst they’ve picked up plenty of trophies since, they haven’t put together a serious title challenge.

The Blues have struggled for consistency in the league for a number of years, and will be looking to change that as soon as possible, although John Terry doesn’t think they are ready to win the league this season.
The squad is arguably better than it was last season, and the pressure will be on to once again make progress and close the gap at the top.
