Real Madrid are set to announce Jose Mourinho as manager this week, following the re-election of Florentino Perez as President on Sunday. The Poruguese manager has agreed to a three-year deal, after Los Blancos paid his €15m release clause to free him from the final year of his deal at Benfica.
The move will be announced officially by Real Madrid this week, with his presentation expected on Wednesday or Thursday, although Perez has confirmed via his campaign channels last week that Mourinho is his choice for the managerial position.

In recent days there had been reports that former Real Madrid centre-back Pepe could be one of the members of his coaching staff. Mouinho appears to feel that the defence is where they need to improve most, something Pepe is an expert in, and is also keen to bring in a former player as a bridge between the squad and the coaching staff. Yet Diario AS say that this decision has not been taken yet, and that he is carefully considering who is right for the role.
El Chiringuito go a step further, and say that Pepe will not be part of his staff. The 43-year-old called time on his career two years ago at Porto, where he had spent the final five years of his career.

There are some names that do appear to be confirmed, with Mourinho bringing in the majority of his staff from Benfica. Assistants Joao Tralhao and Paulo Machado are both coming with him, as is fitness coach Antonio Dias. Analyst Roberto Merella and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos are also poised to join him, which has cast some doubt on the future of current goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis.
