One Chelsea player who has had some issues in the past, is now really impressing everyone at The Blues Cobham training ground in Surrey.

That is according to our writer Simon Phillips on his own Substack site today.

Phillips has released an exclusive report on Chelsea winger Noni Madueke and how he is impressing staff at the training centre, including head coach Enzo Maresca.

Things have not always gone great for Madueke at Chelsea since he joined the club, and there has been a few issues highlighted, such as the penalty incident when he tried to take the ball from Cole Palmer, causing a bit of drama as a result.

But Phillips ensures that it’s all change this season with Madueke, who is showing a great attitude and good maturity now.

A clear difference

Phillips writes:

‘SPTC sources have heard from Cobham last night, and there is one player who is receiving a glowing review.

‘It’s not even Noni Madueke’s performances in training that is seeing him get plenty of praise from Cobham staff, it is more his attitude from the start of pre-season up until now so far.

‘One source says he has seen a clear difference in maturity and focus from the winger so far this season, something that was perhaps not always there last season.

‘Madueke is serious about making it at Chelsea and helping bring the club back to where they need to be. And he is also serious about becoming the best possible player he can become.’

This is obviously really great to hear. Madueke has put some really good performances in so far this season and has also scored some very good goals. He is holding his own amongst the stars and showing he can compete in a very talented and large squad.
