Liverpool remain in active conversations with Ibrahima Konate and his camp over a new contract.

There are discussions ongoing with the French defender. At the moment there’s still nothing done or agreed, but the conversations are still underway.

From Real Madrid at the moment, what I can say is that Real Madrid, a few months ago, before Christmas, informed Liverpool that they were not advancing on a deal to sign Ibrahima Konate.

But Real Madrid keep following centre-backs on the market because David Alaba is expected to leave the club in the summer, and so they could add one more at centre-back position.

At the moment, with Konate there is nothing advanced with Real Madrid, nothing really concrete into it. With Liverpool, the conversation is continuing and let’s see if they can find a financial agreement.

The player is open to continuing at Liverpool, but obviously it’s an important contract for his career, and so the conversation is going to continue with new contacts expected this month in April to take a final decision as soon as possible on the future of Ibrahima Konate regarding a potential move or a new contract.
