Brighton to be without at least four senior players against Tottenham

A minor injury sustained in training last week caused Milner to sit out the trip to Burnley.

In his absence, the Seagulls recorded a 2-0 win at Turf Moor thanks to a brace from Mats Wieffer as he scored right at the end of both halves.

That victory boosted Brighton's hopes of European qualification as they now sit two points off a potential Europa League spot having won five of their last six Premier League games.

Hopes of a repeating last season's 4-1 win in N17 have been boosted after Hurzeler revealed that there are no fresh injury concerns despite Milner's absence.

"Yes, he still will be out," the Brighton boss told reporters in the pre-match press conference on Friday.

Joining Milner on the sidelines is captain Lewis Dunk as he serves the second of a two-match suspension as a result of picking up ten yellow cards across the season.

Stefanos Tzimas and Adam Webster are longer-term injury casualties, with neither player expected to feature again until next season.

This weekend’s game sees Hurzeler come up against his Brighton predecessor in Roberto De Zerbi who makes his home debut in the Spurs dugout.

“I think he deserves the praise because he had a huge impact here on this club,” Hurzeler said of the Italian. “He had great achievements with the players.

“He reached Europe for the first time so he deserves this praise. On the other side, when the whistle starts, it's a game between Brighton and Tottenham and our approach is the same.

“We are there to achieve something, we are there to win this game. We are there to keep showing the right habits and therefore that's our main focus."
