Fabrice Bocquet, chief executive and president of OGC Nice, is leaving his role by mutual agreement, with Jean-Pierre Rivère and Maurice Cohen returning to the club. Rivère will take over as president, Cohen becomes vice-president.

According to L'Équipe, the decision was reached with shareholder Ineos. Bocquet felt the club needed clear signals to tackle inertia, and though relations with the shareholder and staff remained good, the levers he wanted to pull were not possible. He believed a refresh was required across the club, particularly in football operations.

Appointed in November 2022 as chief executive when the project was highly ambitious, Bocquet then oversaw cost reductions over the past two seasons. Several high earners departed and the club generated significant transfer fees. Results held up, with back-to-back top five finishes.

He also succeeded Rivère as president in August. After a complicated summer window, performance levels dropped sharply in recent weeks, with nine straight defeats. Head coach Franck Haise recently offered to be the fall guy, but the shareholder did not pursue that option.

To ensure continuity and inject new impetus, the shareholder has reinstated a familiar duo. Rivère previously served from 2011 to last July, with a break between January and August 2019, while Cohen led the club from 2002 to 2009.
