Fabrizio Romano believes one of Liverpool's main transfer targets will agree a move this summer. But will it be to Liverpool?
Liverpool's 2026 transfers are simply massive. They've got to get them right after an incredible summer spend brought about a backwards step from the title-winning group of 2024/25.
That's undeniable at this stage - we've witnessed the worst run of form from any Liverpool side since the 1950s. It just hasn't been good enough and must be corrected this year.
It doesn't, however, appear that those corrections will arrive this month. The Athletic report that Liverpool intend to stick with what they've got this winter - something that piles the pressure on Arne Slot.
Instead, we imagine the club will go reasonably big in the summer again. And that includes pushing to sign one of the most in-demand players in Europe right now.
Fabrizio Romano certainly believes he's moving.
There is an incredible amount of hype around Yan Diomande right now and rightfully so. The Ivorian exploded onto the scene a year ago with Leganes, earning him a move to RB Leipzig where he's only kicked on further.
And he could well be on his way to Liverpool. He's publicly admitted to wanting a move to Anfield, after all, and the Reds are in desperate need of a winger.
Romano, though, does not believe that move would happen this month as Leipzig simply don't need to do it. The summer, though? That's a different matter.
