Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on suggestions that Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount could be on the move this summer.

Mount has not really got going in a United shirt since he joined the club in a £55million move from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

Injuries and fitness problems have limited Mount to just 13 Premier League starts for United

Like Erik ten Hag before his sacking in November last year, Ruben Amorim has shown an incredible fondness for Mount, often publicly praising his work ethic and application.

But frustrations over his availability continue to mount, with many viewing him as a player who has yet to begin justifying his hefty price tag.

This has led to speculation that United may look to cut their losses this summer if a good offer for Mount were to arrive.

More recently, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Aston Villa are interested in signing Mount and offering him an escape from his troubles at Old Trafford.

The report claimed that Villa boss Unai Emery is keen on Mount as part of his efforts to add technicality and experience to his ranks ahead of a demanding 2025/26 campaign.

However, Romano has insisted that Mount has no desire to leave United and is more concerned with being in the best shape possible ahead of pre-season.

Romano wrote on X, “Mason Mount, not planning to leave Man United despite reports in recent hours.”

“He’s focusing on staying fit, do pre-season work at his best and stay to work full season with Rúben Amorim.”

Last term, Mount featured 26 times for United across all competitions. He contributed just three goals in that period.
