Fabrizio Romano provides Liverpool update as pressure builds on Arne Slot

Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest was their sixth in their last seven Premier League games, leaving them 11th in the table.

That has left title-winning head coach Arne Slot under immense pressure and many Liverpool fans claiming his time could be up.

Amidst the uncertainty, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the Dutchman’s future…

Slot on the brink?

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed the stance of Liverpool’s hierarchy after the recent form…

“The season has been really poor for Liverpool so far. 11th in the table and have already lost six games,” said Romano.

“Liverpool are not thinking about changing the manager now. But obviously the club want to see different results and performances from the manager and the players.”

“Arne Slot knows that the situation is dangerous, but he can also feel the support and backing of the club.”

Things need to change, and fast…

The home clash with Nottingham Forest was the opener to a decent run of games for Liverpool, so the defeat was a tough one to take.

However, they now face some reasonable fixtures against West Ham United, Sunderland and Leeds United in the Premier League. But also, this Liverpool side haven’t earnt the right to underestimate or take any fixture for granted.

If Liverpool fail to put in improved performances and results in these three Premier League games, then it’s hard to imagine the club not starting to question his position.

They currently sit 11 points behind league-leaders Arsenal and if we’re honest, the title isn’t even worth thinking about at the moment.

If the Reds were also to fall out of the race for Champions League football, then it would entirely be reasonable for the club to have serious concerns.

As it stands, Liverpool are only three points behind Aston Villa in fourth place. Within just a few weeks, the whole picture could change but until then, it’s hard to see.
