Paris Saint-Germain have always been synonymous with having a big-name player, whether it be David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi, Neymar or Kylian Mbappe.

But interestingly, their first real season without a bona fide superstar saw them lift their UEFA Champions League. But that hasn’t stopped them from chasing their next superstar, especially now that Messi, Neymar and Mbappe are not a part of the first-team anymore.

Recent reports have linked PSG with a move for Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal, and those claims have now been verified by famous journalist Romain Molina.

PSG are desperate to sign Yamal

Molina, who has worked for outlets such as The Guardian and The Independent, suggests that PSG are getting desperate to sign Yamal.

According to Molina’s latest report, PSG’s Qatari owners have made it a long-term priority to secure Yamal’s signature.

The journalist explains that the French giants, still eager to fill the void left by their departed superstars, have followed Yamal for years and recently intensified their efforts after missing out on Lionel Messi.

While Manchester City have maintained interest, it is PSG that are “absolutely determined” to bring the 18-year-old Spanish sensation to Paris in the coming years. “We must have him,” the club bosses say.

Molina adds that the club is prepared to do whatever it takes to sign Yamal, potentially indicating that the French giants could be willing to throw some serious money at the Spaniard, who has recently received backing from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have responded by offering Yamal one of the biggest contracts in their history, complete with loyalty bonuses and performance incentives, designed to fend off interest from PSG and other elite European clubs.

The club are well aware of the repeated approaches and continues to increase its support for Yamal, both financially and publicly, to ensure he remains a part of their long-term sporting project.
