Daniel Farke says defender Jaka Bijol is facing around a month out with a hamstring injury.
Bijol was left out of the squad for the win over Fulham, as substitute Lukas Nmecha scored a late winner to secure a 1-0 victory.
But Farke says Bijol is now facing three to five weeks out with the injury suffered in training.
“It’s predicted three to five weeks, we will see,” the Leeds boss said. “Let’s see how it develops. Important player for us.”
On whether he could turn to the transfer window to strengthen in defence, Farke said: “If there would be a setback with Jaka’s rehab late in January we would react.
“But until then I’m fine. If something strange happens I think we should react but at the moment there’s no need for panic.”
Midfielder Anton Stach also missed the game with an adductor problem but Farke says he could be back for his side’s next game against Everton.
Farke also clarified his decision to drop goalkeeper Lucas Perri in favour of Karl Darlow, saying: “We wanted to take him out of the spotlight and then give him also the chance right now in training, to work to his best, to achieve his best possible level again, because sadly, he wasn’t able to show this in the last weeks.”
