Monaco beat Metz 2-1 at Stade Saint-Symphorien, rising from seventh to sixth in Ligue 1 thanks to Ansu Fati's late strike.

Jessy Deminguet headed Metz in front in the 49th minute, meeting Gauthier Hein's cross from a set piece.

Pape Sy had earlier saved Maghnes Akliouche's effort (51.). Folarin Balogun levelled with a low finish (61.) after Akliouche picked him out.

Caio Henrique had only just come on (84.). Substitute Ansu Fati won the game in the first minute of second half stoppage time, finishing Henrique's pass.

Bouna Sarr fired wide in the third minute of second half stoppage time as Metz chased a leveller.
