The Audi Summer Tour 2026 will be a real highlight this year – visually, too. For both friendly matches in Asia, FC Bayern is presenting exclusive special shirt designs which are each deeply rooted in the local culture and are intended to turn the jerseys into good luck charms. The shirt printing was designed in collaboration with HYPEBEAST and adidas.
The jersey printing that’s been designed specially for Jeju will be worn by the team in their match on the island, and is available from 1 August exclusively at the Pop-Up Stores on Jeju. The design comes from Korean artist Dohee Kwon, who deliberately chose to steer clear of typical Korean motifs. “I wanted to showcase something that truly belongs only to Jeju,” explains Dohee Kwon. She therefore focused on the traditional paper craft ‘Gime’, which exists only on Jeju and is closely linked to shamanistic rituals. Building on this, she created a serene visual world featuring sun and moon motifs as well as graphic shapes reminiscent of the delicate paper cutouts of Gime. “Once it was clear that I was working with Gime, the rest of the design flowed quite naturally.” On Jeju, Gime also symbolises wishes for happiness, health and the protection of ancestors – the artist directly applies this meaning to FC Bayern. “Through the design, I can express my own wishes for the Bayern players – that they have a nice and inspiring time on Jeju.”
FC Bayern will also take to the field with special printing on the back of their shirts at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on 7 August – this is available from now exclusively in Greater China at the All Star Partner Stores and FC Bayern Pop-Up Stores. The design is the work of local artist Kristopher HO, who examined ancient Chinese aesthetics in depth and deliberately avoided stereotypical motifs such as landmarks or neon signs. “I wanted to avoid elements that have already been overused and instead bring something new to the table – something very local that’s often overlooked,” says HO. He was inspired by traditional lucky charms and amulets: large-scale depictions rich in detail, featuring the 12 animals of the ancient Chinese zodiac as well as mythical celestial beings such as dragons and phoenixes. “My aim was to offer a new perspective on local influences that’s still familiar and accessible.”
These symbols represent luck and prosperity – a combination that fits perfectly with FC Bayern’s idea of giving its players a bit of added inspiration on the pitch. The special shirt printing is intended to serve as a good luck charm for the Bayern players, helping them to be in harmony with their surroundings – both physically and mentally – and to strive for ever-higher goals. “I hope the jersey brings the players good luck, helping them to fully connect with their surroundings and to keep striving for greater heights,” said HO, explaining his approach.
With the special printing, FC Bayern is underlining its commitment to viewing the Audi Summer Tour 2026 not merely as a sporting event, but as an opportunity to respectfully and creatively integrate the culture of the host cities into the team’s appearance – in a way that is local, authentic and exclusive to the special matches against Jeju SK and Aston Villa.
