According to journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have not ruled out a future move to bring Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško back to the Bundesliga.
While Harry Kane remains the club’s undisputed first-choice striker and is expected to sign a new contract, Falk believes the possibility of Bayern pursuing the Slovenian international in the future cannot be dismissed.
Kane has increasingly dropped into deeper areas to influence games creatively as well as contribute with goals, and there is a belief he could eventually operate in a more withdrawn role, allowing a natural centre-forward to lead the line.
Although Bayern have already strengthened their attack with the signing of Ismael Saibari and are not expected to pursue another striker in the current transfer window, Šeško remains firmly on the club’s shortlist.
The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in all competitions for Manchester United last season in his debut Premier League campaign and has established himself as a dependable goalscorer under Michael Carrick.
Falk concluded by saying: “The Slovenian is still on the list and he’s a player who is very interesting for FC Bayern. Perhaps, if he’s struggling to make his mark in the Premier League, they could return to this idea. The plan for the future, nonetheless, is to sign another striker who can be Harry Kane’s successor while also being capable of playing in a two-striker system. This is one of Vincent Kompany’s key ideas.”
