FC Bayern Women are Google Pixel Bundesliga champions for the fourth year in a row after an almost flawless campaign in 2025/26. The Munich Frauen secured the title for the eighth time in their history with a 3-2 win at Union Berlin. fcbayern.com looks back on some of the key milestones on the road to being crowed champions of Germany once again.
The opening game of the season saw Bayern lay down multiple markers for what they wanted to be a big campaign. A 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen was the perfect Bundesliga debut for new coach José Barcala and was achieved in front of a record crowd in German women’s football of 57,762 at the Allianz Arena.
Summer signing Vanessa Gilles and Klara Bühl’s quickfire double ensured the perfect start to Bayern’s title defence and got the crowd going at the Allianz Arena. “Everyone dreams of playing in front of a crowd like this,” Gilles said after the game. But that was just the beginning of the dream.
Matchday 6 brought Bayern’s first major test of the season with a trip to Wolfsburg, and the team needed a big performance just a few days on from their heavy Champions League defeat in Barcelona. They did just that and in impressive style with a 3-1 win. Bühl put the Munich Frauen deservedly ahead before Momoko Tanikawa’s lovely finish doubled the advantage. Alara’s added-time goal rounded things off as Bayern went top of the Bundesliga table and wouldn’t give up that position.
Bayern continued their excellent scoring form in the following weeks, netting at least four goals in consecutive victories over Köln, Essen, Nürnberg, Union Berlin, Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg between Matchday 7 and 13.
Arguably the best result from that streak was the dominant 5-0 win away in Frankfurt, which took Barcala’s team to 11 consecutive victories across all competitions. Birthday girl Bühl was once again on the scoresheet inside just 12 minutes before Jovana Damnjanović and Pernille Harder ensured a comfortable half-time lead in Germany’s financial capital.
Things were similar in the second period as the Bavarians continued to control proceedings. Damnjanović and Alara added even more gloss to the scoreline as Bayern saw off a team that had been considered a title rival going into the season.
Bayern knew they had one last major hurdle to get over in February as they welcomed Wolfsburg to Munich. And it looked like the She-Wolves would reignite the title race as they led at the break through Kessya Bussy’s goal.
However, Bayern stepped things up a notch or two in the second period, with Damnjanović taking centre stage. The Serbia international bagged two goals in the space of as many minutes to suddenly put the champions ahead. Further finishes from Georgia Stanway and Bühl saw Barcala’s side run away with things and take three huge points off their closest rivals in a 4-1 win to go 14 clear at the top.
Bayern ensured there would be no slips as they raced towards the title, going through the whole of March without conceding a Bundesliga goal, even with a packed fixture list that included the DFB Cup quarter-final in Hamburg and an intense Champions League quarter-final first leg away at Manchester United. There was no sign of fatigue or letting up.
March began with a comfortable 3-0 victory away away at Köln, which was topped by a 5-0 win in Essen. A 2-0 success at home to Nürnberg rounded off that flawless month and took the champions-in-waiting to a goal difference of +75 (81-6) with only 21 games played.
Bayern’s mission was complete on 22 April with a 3-2 win away at Union Berlin that gave them an unassailable 15-point lead over Wolfsburg at the top with four games to play. Edna Imade’s early goal was cancelled out by Sophie Weidauer, before Barbara Dunst’s second-half shot was again nullified by Lia Lamber. But Giulia Gwinn came off the bench to net the winner and start the title celebrations in the capital.
On top of wrapping up the defence of their domestic crown, it also brought Bayern a new club record of 19 consecutive wins in the Bundesliga. They have dropped only two points on their way to 2025/26 glory, drawing against Carl Zeiss Jena on Matchday 3. Consistency, resolve and mental strength have defined their push for the title, which they’ve deservedly claimed with four games to spare.
