CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati earned a 1-1 draw with FC Motagua in the second leg of their Round One series, winning 5-2 on aggregate, as the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup continued Wednesday at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

After winning 4-1 in Honduras last week, the MLS side saw out the series at home to advance to the Round of 16. FC Cincinnati’s next opponent will be Liga MX side Tigres UANL, winners of the 2020 edition.

Rodrigo Auzmendi gave FC Motagua the lead ten minutes into the second-leg encounter, striking a clean volley off a Jonathan Nuñez cross, as the Honduran side attempted the comeback.

Kévin Denkey wasted no time eliminating that deficit as he slipped behind the defense and fired home the equalizer in the 19’. The striker has two goals in two Champions Cup games for FC Cincinnati.

FC Cincy has won ten of the 14 matches it has played against non-MLS opponents. Motagua is winless in ten meetings with MLS foes in the modern era of the Champions Cup since 2008.
