FC Porto will submit disciplinary complaints on Wednesday against Sporting forward Luis Suárez and club president Frederico Varandas, following incidents in the match.

According to O Jogo, André Villas-Boas’s board is finalising paperwork for the Portuguese federation’s Disciplinary Council, with filings expected to be lodged the same day.

Porto will report the Colombian for a gesture implying theft towards the cameras as Sporting appealed for a second yellow for Alberto Costa. Villas-Boas noted he once received a four-match ban in China for a similar gesture.

They also allege Suárez assaulted Jan Bednarek in the 25th minute with a challenge after the ball had gone. The defender tried to continue but was overcome by severe pain on the right side of his torso, then suffered vomiting and struggled to breathe comfortably.

The complaint further cites an episode in which Porto say Suárez intentionally pushed Bednarek into Diogo Costa when the ball was not playable, aggravating the earlier injury.

Bednarek has been diagnosed with ribcage trauma, with additional tests pending to determine the extent.

Porto will also report Varandas for his mixed-zone remarks, after he responded to Villas-Boas by calling him a coward and a liar.
