Federico Valverde: Real Madrid star to join United on one condition

Manchester United have reportedly made an offer to sign Federico Valverde from Real Madrid.
Real are enduring a chaotic campaign, grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons, both on and off the pitch.
Earlier this year, a Supercopa final loss at the hands of Barcelona led to Xabi Alonso’s sacking. However, Los Blancos’ form and performances remain as inconsistent as they were under the Spaniard. There are also question marks over the attitude of their star-studded squad.
Despite all the noise and mess in Madrid, the Spanish media continue to push the narrative that clubs across Europe are queuing up to throw ridiculous sums of money at Real stars.
Manchester United are widely expected to prioritise a midfield overhaul in the summer and may look to make marquee additions in the middle of the park if they secure Champions League football.
According to a report in Spain, as relayed by Football365, United have put an “offer on the table” for Federico Valverde worth €130 million (£114m).
Valverde is known for his aggressive style of play and versatility. Former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti described the Uruguayan midfielder as “the most complete player in football.”
Managers admire the tactical and positional awareness of the 27-year-old, who has helped the Spanish giants win two Champions League trophies by playing as a midfielder, right winger, and right back.
However, the South American is now frustrated with his situation and is keen to nail down a place in midfield.
Valverde has no intention of remaining at Real as a makeshift right back and is thought to be “waiting for Jude Bellingham’s return” from injury before deciding whether to “accept” a move to United.
The report in Spain says: “If Bellingham’s return means relegating him back to a secondary role or to wing positions, the United offer will cease to be a temptation and become a real opportunity.
“The ball is in Real Madrid’s court. Valverde wants to feel like a midfielder, not a stopgap to solve emergencies. And his future, despite the €130 million on the table, will be decided more by tactical considerations than by the check, because Fede wants to stay, but not at the expense of his happiness on the pitch.”
This seems more like a Real headache, with the Spanish press seemingly exaggerating their importance by suggesting United have made an enormous offer for a player still hoping to cement his place at the La Liga club.
Furthermore, in England, it is believed United want to sign Premier League-proven midfielders and are closely monitoring Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton ahead of the summer.
