Federico Valverde’s stance on a possible transfer to Manchester United has come to light amidst rumours that it could be on the cards.
Since joining Real Madrid in 2016 and eventually breaking into the first team two years later, Valverde has enjoyed tremendous success with Los Blancos.
He has cemented his status as one of the best and most versatile midfielders in football, helping Madrid to win three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies.
A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are interested in Valverde and are even willing to include Kobbie Mainoo as a makeweight to get a deal over the line. Madrid are believed to be interested in Mainoo, who is facing an uncertain future under Ruben Amorim.
The report stated that United are willing to offer Mainoo plus £44m in exchange for the dynamic Valverde.
However, it appears the Red Devils will be massively disappointed, with a new update claiming that he has zero interest in sealing a switch to Old Trafford.
TEAMtalk reveal that Valverde is reluctant to join United in their current state, despite the club’s global stature.
His preference is to remain at Madrid, where he is guaranteed to be regularly challenging for top honours and trophies every season.
According to TEAMtalk, “There feels pretty much no chance United will sign Valverde – even as the noise grows that they want to.”
“That’s the message I’m getting from people close to the Spanish end of this story and it’s not really surprising. He’s been around the club for almost 10 years now and has become a brilliant, crucial and adaptable player for them.”
“There is no need for him to drop down a level to join Man United, and that’s truly what it would be. His profile would be great for United, but it just seems too ambitious to me.”
“The clubs may be on a similar level in terms of global status, but Madrid’s current team is in a much better place than United’s and he is a key part of it.”
United are back in action on Saturday when they face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
