Fenerbahce are reportedly lining up Domenico Tedesco as the prime candidate to replace Jose Mourinho, according to Sky Italia.
Mourinho was relieved of his duties last month after Benfica narrowly defeated Fenerbahce in the Champions League play-offs.
Assistant coach Zeki Murat Gole has taken temporary charge of proceedings as Fenerbahce continue their search for a new manager.
The Turkish giants were linked with a move for former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, but have set their sights on hiring Tedesco.
However the Italian is also wanted by Premier League club Nottingham Forest.
Forest have already approached Tedesco as they consider their options in the event of a managerial change, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s future far from certain.
Fenerbahce and Forest are currently awaiting Tedesco’s final decision regarding his preferred destination. The 39-year-old has already garnered considerable managerial experience.
His breakthrough came in the Bundesliga, where he started his coaching career and achieved notable success. Most notably, Tedesco led RB Leipzig to win the DFB-Pokal in 2022.
After his spell in Germany, Tedesco took charge of the Belgian national team for two seasons, further broadening his managerial CV with international experience.
He is now poised to return to club football, bringing with him a combination of youthful energy and a passion to win.
