In the last few hours, worrying news emerged from Turkey for Roma in their race to sign Mason Greenwood.
Fenerbahçe, according to Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, had sent emissaries to France to close the deal, with an offer close to €50 million.
The Turkish club, in the last few minutes, denied this report with a harsh statement. “No one from our football committee is currently conducting transfer negotiations in France. The accusations made by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu on social media do not reflect the truth. Recently, the obligation to make this statement arose due to the repeated release of false transfer news to the public and systematic attempts to mislead Fenerbahçe fans.”
This is the harsh statement from the yellow canaries, following the repeated fake news circulated in recent days.
Fenerbahçe then criticized the former management: “Fenerbahçe Sports Club has no problem with any member of the media who adheres to professional ethics and relies on accuracy. Our approach to communication is open, transparent, and based on mutual respect. However, those who seek to guide our club with speculation, serve unconfirmed information as if it were true, and believe that the system of leaking information they were accustomed to in the past will continue, should know that Fenerbahçe is no longer managed with this approach.”
