Bruno Fernandes is ready to commit his future to Manchester United and sign a new contract at Old Trafford.
Fernandes’s future has been unclear with the Manchester United captain into the final year of his current deal with the club.
Several sides have been monitoring his situation, with long-standing interest from the Saudi Pro League, in the event the Red Devils decided to cash-in this summer.
However, the 31-year-old is ready to sign fresh terms with the Express reporting that contract talks are ongoing. Fernandes is prepared to commit to the project, as Manchester United prepare to return to the Champions League this season.
The Portugal international has been a bright light in an otherwise challenging period, in which the club have won just one League Cup and one FA Cup since arriving from Sporting CP in January 2020.
Last season, Fernandes broke the Premier League record for assists in a single season, with 21, to help the Red Devils to a third-place finish.
He has now decided to remain in Manchester as the club prepare for a new era under Michael Carrick. The new terms of the deal will see Fernandes become one of the Premier League’s highest-paid players.
