The #FreeGleizes campaign is gathering pace. LFP president Vincent Labrune said the league has written to all clubs to invite appeals for Gleizes’s release to be played from two January at all L1 and L2 matches, and has also sought backing from his Algerian counterpart.

FFF president Philippe Diallo said a portrait will be placed on the federation’s facade on Wednesday, ahead of a Thursday evening meeting with the family and the support committee. The drive is due to continue this weekend in the Coupe de France and the Arkema Première Ligue.

Vikash Dhorasoo, a former shareholder of So Foot and Society, said he is part of the support committee, has signed petitions, and is shocked that a journalist cannot work freely. A video of support also features Rai, Dominique Rocheteau, Jocelyn Gourvennec, Claude Le Roy, and journalists Denis Brogniart and Hervé Mathoux.

Paris FC president Pierre Ferracci, Nice counterpart Franck Haise, and club chiefs including Arnaud Pouille and Auxerre’s Baptiste Malherbe publicly voiced support. The reporter’s family has appealed to Kylian Mbappé, Zinédine Zidane and Karim Benzema to speak out, believing their voices could help move the situation.
