Scotland's Scott McTominay has had a relatively quiet tournament so far by his high standards and there remains a question mark over who gets the nod up front with Ché Adams, Lyndon Dykes and Lawrence Shankland all vying for places.

The exciting Ben Gannon-Doak is capable of causing Brazil's full-backs plenty of problems if he returns to the starting line-up after being benched against Morocco.

For Brazil, Viní Jr has been directly involved in six goals in his last five games for his country and netted in each group game so far but Ancelotti also has a decision to make in attack in keeping faith with the in-form Cunha or bringing Igor Thiago back in.

Neymar has also made huge strides in his bid for fitness and could make his first appearance of the tournament here - albeit it would likely be off the bench.

Scotland fans won the hearts of the people of Boston throughout their two-game stay there for their previous fixtures.

Fun facts 📊

  • Since the 1974 World Cup™, only Argentina-Netherlands has been contested more in the tournament than Scotland-Brazil who will meet for the fifth time
  • Scotland haven't faced any nation more than Brazil without winning (P10, D2, L8), while Brazil also haven't played against any country more without losing (equal with Austria)
  • Of the 60 first round games Brazil have played in World Cup™ tournaments to date, they have only lost five times, although three of those defeats did come on matchday three of the group stage

Our prediction 🔮

  1. Scotland 0-2 Brazil
