Final match of year v WAC

One last push in 2025

Let's give our all one last time before the winter break! This Sunday 14 December at 14:30 CET, we close out 2025 with a home game on Matchday 17 of the Austrian Bundesliga against Wolfsberger AC. A win against Ismail Atalan's team will secure our place at the top of the table and allow us to spend the winter break as leaders of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.

The team wants to shake off the disappointment of the 0-1 Europa League defeat in Freiburg with as good a performance as possible. We need to watch out though, as the Wolves are once again fully in the mix for the championship group this season (even after Didi Kühbauer's departure)! Just last weekend, they secured a 2-1 victory against FK Austria Vienna to move up to fifth place. Their rising star Nwaiwu was shown a red card during the match though and will be suspended for our meeting.

Our first meeting with WAC this season was a tough one. The reigning cup winners surprised us with a 3-1 victory in September, handing us our first defeat of the Bundesliga season. We need to learn from that and settle the score to end the year on a high!

Tickets for the match are available in our online Ticket Shop. As usual, Sky Sport Austria will be broadcasting the game. All the essential information for your visit to the stadium can be found in our matchday information:

  • Jannik Schuster (ill) and Sota Kitano (thigh) are doubts.
  • Thomas Letsch, who missed the Freiburg match with a viral infection, is also a doubt for Sunday.

Views

We absolutely want to win the last match of the year so that we can go into the new year as league leaders. To achieve this, we need to recover well after the Freiburg match as we'll need all our energy again for the Wolfsberg game to secure another three points. We struggled in our first encounter with WAC, and we want to do better this time.
