Fiorentina confirm Fabio Grosso as head coach on deal to 2028 | OneFootball

Fiorentina have appointed Fabio Grosso as head coach on a contract to 30 June 2028. The club said in a statement that the former Italy defender and World Cup winner takes charge with immediate effect.

Grosso, 46, began coaching in Juventus’ youth set-up in 2013 and made his senior managerial debut with Bari in 2017. He has since led Lyon, Frosinone and Sassuolo.

He has achieved two promotions from Serie B to Serie A, taking Sassuolo up in 2024-25, then guiding the Neroverdi to 11th in 2025-26.

Fiorentina avoided relegation with two games left in 2025-26, having replaced Stefano Pioli with Paolo Vanoli in November 2025. The club appointed sporting director Fabio Paratici in February 2026, reuniting him with Grosso after their time at Juventus.

He thanked the club hierarchy, expressed delight at the challenge, and pledged commitment, professionalism and a bold, ambitious approach.

Fiorentina also welcomed a coach they view as innovative and energetic, and spoke of launching a new chapter with greater ambition.
