At home v LASK on Saturday

Within just seven days we are at home twice in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga against teams from Linz, with LASK first to visit this Saturday at 17:00 CEST.

LASK are experiencing a mixed start to the season under new coach Joao Sacramento, who has his first head coach role. Defeats against WSG Tirol and SK Sturm Graz were followed by a 2-1 win against Austria Vienna.

It is no great surprise though that LASK will take a little time to find themselves again with a new coach and plenty of turnover this summer. In addition to all the departures – most recently the termination of Jerome Boateng's contract – there have been lots of new signings, with rumours of some more in the pipeline.

We want to build on our win in Hartberg by taking another three points to stay among the leading bunch in the league. For anyone wondering why our superior goal difference does not leave us top of the table, the answer is...the head-to-head record is decisive for teams level on points, and should there be more than one team, a mini table is formed among the teams concerned. However, as we are yet to play against Altach, Rapid or WSG Tirol, we are on zero points in that comparison.

Not that the table at this stage of the season matters. We still have to win, win, win - starting with this Saturday at home! All the information on coming to the Red Bull Arena can be read here:

We used this week, in which we didn't have a competitive match for the first time in a while, to work on all aspects of our game, with the opposition's possession being a particularly important topic. It was difficult to do that recently due to the large number of matches. That makes it really good to have a week like this again. LASK have a new coach in Joao Sacramento, who wants to bring his ideas to the table. You can see the direction they want to go in, but you can also see that not everything is running smoothly yet. It was important for them to win their last game against Austria Vienna, even though they are still a team that is difficult to judge at this early stage of the season. It certainly won't be an easy game, but we know how we can beat them.
