There have been some big changes announced around Anfield in recent days.
Arne Slot has left his position as Liverpool head coach with the Dutchman failing to survive his end-of-season review.
By the time the end of June rolls around meanwhile Mo Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate will no longer be Liverpool players.
Salah has reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract a year early. Robertson hasn’t been offered a new deal and Konate has failed to come to terms over a new contract.
And the exits won’t stop there. Because it looks like Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is ready to listen to offers for another title-winner.
Harvey Elliott, 23, joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day.
There was a view towards a permanent £35m transfer should certain performance criteria be met but it was clear very early on that Unai Emery had no intention of honouring the deal.
Elliott will therefore return to the AXA Training Centre for preseason training - albeit with only a year left on his contract.
At this stage it would be surprising if he signed a new deal and therefore this summer is the last chance Liverpool have got to bank a decent fee for the England under-21 international.
A report in Sports Boom now claims that the outgoing Premier League champions are prepared to listen to offers of between €30m and €35m for Elliott as four Premier League clubs circle as well as one from the Bundesliga.
“Liverpool are prepared to listen to offers in the region of €30-35 million for Elliott,” the report reads.
“Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Coventry City, Leeds United, and RB Leipzig are among the names currently on Elliott’s radar.”
Leeds are mentioned as a distinct possibility for Elliott while Leipzig’s interest is long-standing.
The playmaker is unlikely to get another chance to prove himself - even under a new manager - as the club will definitely not want him leaving on a free.
Therefore the teams mentioned above will be encouraged to come forward with bids as another Reds’ star gears up for the exit.
