Flaco López rescues Palmeiras draw as Vitor Roque struggles | OneFootball

Flaco López struck the equaliser as Palmeiras drew with Guarani in the Paulistão, on a night when Vitor Roque struggled.

According to Globo.com, López levelled from Ramón Sosa’s pass after Bruno Fuchs sparked the move with a long ball. The goalkeeper also made two excellent second-half saves, one one-on-one.

Lucas Evangelista, in his first start since last year’s injury, impressed with energy and movement. Marlon Freitas came on to steady the rhythm, and Allan made Palmeiras more dangerous on the right.

Felipe Anderson increased the attacking threat and might have had an assist with a cross for Vitor Roque, who missed. Emiliano Martínez’s passing grew erratic after half-time and he was replaced. Maurício failed to exploit the space around the box.

Fuchs was the most accurate passer and helped create the goal, with Gustavo Gómez also attempting to build against a deep block. Jefté produced a few promising first-half runs and stayed secure, Piquerez was steady. Giay offered little going forward and was exposed by counters after the interval.

Abel Ferreira’s side registered more than 25 attempts but poor finishing cost them. Roque was busy yet wasteful, spurning two close-range chances, one with the goal gaping. Palmeiras did enough to win, yet left with only a point.
