According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo want Luiz Henrique for the 2026 season, with Zenit willing to negotiate in the mid-year window after the 2026 World Cup.

Flamengo are keeping expectations in check, mindful that negotiations with the Russian club are rarely straightforward.

Botafogo sold Luiz Henrique to Zenit for 35 million euros, around R$ 210 million at the time. Zenit are now seeking about 40 million euros, roughly R$ 241 million, so Flamengo would need to spend heavily.

A Fluminense academy product who made his mark at Botafogo, Luiz Henrique has not ruled out joining Flamengo. He would prefer to remain in Europe, and is waiting for an official bid from Fla before weighing his options. On Monday 30 he kept the subject open when asked about Mengo.

“I cannot answer that,” he said, laughing. “I cannot say. Only Botafogo or Fluminense? I cannot say. I want to do my best for my club so that later I can decide with my family,” he told Goat.

In the meantime, Flamengo prepare to face Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday 02 after the FIFA international break, with kick-off at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Cicero de Souza Marques in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
