Flamengo get 10-day window before next Brasileirão match | OneFootball

Flamengo were held 1-1 by Internacional on Wednesday 29 in the 21st round of the Brasileirão, and now have a 10-day window before returning to league action.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Copa do Brasil last-16 first legs next week mean Flamengo, already eliminated, do not play in the league again until Friday nine August, when they host Vitória at the Maracanã at 19:30 Brasília time.

The schedule currently runs through Sunday, with Thursday 30 a rest day. Players report back on Friday 31, with 10:00 sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

As for the match, Leonardo Jardim’s side struggled to set the tempo before the interval, with Internacional creating the clearer openings and taking the lead at 27 minutes through Vitinho.

Flamengo saw more of the ball after the break but found it hard to trouble goalkeeper Matheus Cunha. Samuel Lino levelled at 34 minutes after a scramble in the box, preventing defeat.

The draw hurt their title chase, widening rather than closing the gap to leaders Palmeiras. Instead of trimming it to three, the distance is now eight, with Palmeiras on 47 points and Flamengo second on 39.
