Flamengo include Lucas Paquetá as Danilo and De la Cruz return for Supercopa | OneFootball

Flamengo said in a statement that Lucas Paquetá, Danilo and De la Cruz are in the squad for Sunday’s Supercopa do Brasil against Corinthians in Brasília.

Paquetá has trained twice with the group and could be handed minutes at Estádio Mané Garrincha at 16:00 Brasília time. His last game was on six January, a West Ham defeat in the Premier League. He has not featured since while finalising his return to Flamengo.

Danilo was injured against Palmeiras in October in the Brasileirão, then played on despite the problem for the rest of the season. The centre-back sustained a posterior cruciate ligament strain in his left knee and required a few weeks for full recovery.

De la Cruz is on an individual programme to build continuity this year. With load management, Flamengo hope to have the Uruguayan available for the season’s key fixtures. He had been readied to be in contention for the Supercopa.

The club have also listed midfielder Saúl so he can stay with the group. The Spaniard is still recovering from surgery on his left heel and remains unavailable, the only player out.
