Flamengo and Everton Cebolinha are in the final year of their agreement, with the club planning to discuss an extension. The forward has not yet been approached and his form is bolstering his case for improved terms.

According to Globo.com, Cebolinha has moved ahead in the pecking order on the left flank in 2026 and is in contention to start against Lanús on Thursday in the Recopa Sudamericana first leg. Alongside Bruno Henrique, he leads Flamengo for goal involvements, with three goals and one assist in eight games. Bruno Henrique has two goals and two assists.

He is competing with Samuel Lino, the club’s costliest signing after Paquetá, whose displays have been questioned. Lino started against Botafogo but struggled, the number 11 came on after the break and improved Flamengo’s attacking output.

Carrascal is also used in that channel but tends to play across the front line. In 2026 Cebolinha has four starts on the left, Lino has three.

From the second half of the year, Cebolinha can sign a pre-contract elsewhere. He was on a potential departures list last season and considered leaving to play more, but his status has changed and he is now one of Filipe Luís’ main attacking options. Any renewal will depend on Flamengo’s proposal.

The number 11 has interest in Brazil and abroad, and his current form could shape his next step. In this window Cruzeiro targeted him, but talks, which were linked to Flamengo buying Kaio Jorge, did not progress.
