Flamengo have asked for the Brasileirão Fla-Flu at the Maracanã to be moved from Saturday to Sunday, with kick-off remaining 18:30 Brasília time, after delays on their return from Cusco, according to Globo.com.
A formal request reached Ferj, which forwarded it to the CBF. Ferj consulted the Military Police on security and received the green light for a new date, and the CBF signalled positively to the change.
Fluminense and the CBF had not commented by the time of publication.
The squad were not cleared to fly after the match, so they stayed overnight in Cusco. They travelled to Arequipa early in the morning.
They were initially due to return to Brazil around 11:00, but delays meant they reached Galeão after 19:00. Flamengo say the process amounted to almost 12 hours of delay.
Preparation for the derby was already tight because of the Cusco logistics, with only Friday available for training and recovery. As a result, Leonardo Jardim chose to rest some starters in the Libertadores opener.
