According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo will be without Jorginho for Saturday's Brasileirão clássico against Fluminense. The news follows a 2-0 win over Cusco in their 2026 Libertadores opener on Wednesday.
Jorginho left Sunday's match against Santos with pain in his left calf. An MRI on Monday confirmed a muscle injury, and he has begun treatment. There is no timetable for his return.
Against Cusco, the midfield three were Evertton Araújo, De La Cruz and Lucas Paquetá. Head coach Leonardo Jardim could stick with that unit for the derby, with Erick Pulgar still recovering from a shoulder injury.
Flamengo now turn their attention to the league after their continental start. The Fluminense match is scheduled for Saturday 11, 18:30 Brasília time, at the Maracanã.
The fixture is part of the 11th round of the Brasileirão, and Jardim’s selection options in midfield remain limited.
