Flamengo ‘to pay’ €22m for Jhon Arias as Palmeiras raise bid | OneFootball

Flamengo have stepped up their move for Jhon Arias, telling Wolverhampton they would pay 22 million euros. According to O Globo, Palmeiras subsequently tabled a 25 million euro offer.

Flamengo had earlier signalled positively to Wolverhampton over a proposal for Arias. The back and forth has complicated Fluminense’s position, as the club hold priority to cover Brazilian offers.

Palmeiras are in front in the race at this stage. Arias is not keen to strengthen a Fluminense rival, and he has given a positive response to Abel Ferreira’s team’s contract proposal.

While Flamengo pursue reinforcements, Filipe Luís’s side remain focused on their next assignment. They face Internacional at the Maracanã on Wednesday in the second round of the Brasileirão.

Kick-off is at 19:00 Brasília time, and the match will be shown on Premiere via pay-per-view.
