Barcelona will close their season away to Valencia at Mestalla on Saturday, a night that could feature farewells and returns. According to Superdeporte, barring a late setback, Frenkie de Jong, Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres trained on Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and are in contention.

Flick’s side have lifted two trophies and embedded the German’s game idea, and approach this final official outing with encouraging fitness news.

De Jong missed the last match against Betis due to discomfort that also kept him out of training. Ferran has been nursing a biceps femoris issue, and the club issued a medical note days ago.

Rashford has also been managing muscular problems. He was on the bench against Betis but did not play. The on-loan forward does not yet know if he will remain next season, so Mestalla could be his final Barcelona appearance.

Not all news is positive for Flick. He will be without Fermín López and Lamine Yamal. Fermín has recently undergone surgery on a fifth metatarsal and faces several months out, while the young winger continues his recovery with the World Cup in mind.

Wednesday’s session was among the last of the campaign for the squad, who also plan to hold their traditional end-of-season dinner in the coming hours.
