The injury to Lamine Yamal, which has ruled him out of Barcelona’s game against Valencia tonight, has sparked a lot of fury inside the club.
Indeed, the Blaugrana are very angry with the Spanish national team for the way they have mishandled the situation with the youngster, despite being aware that he was carrying some pain and discomfort coming into the international break.
Now, SPORT has brought forward an extensive report detailing how manager Hansi Flick learned about the problem and his immediate reaction.
After his Spain duties, Lamine returned to training on Tuesday after playing with the Spanish national team, albeit without stepping onto the pitch.
But, as per the report, it was not until Saturday that Flick, who had been confident of having his star available, learned that the pubic problems were more than minor discomfort.
It was on Saturday that the Barcelona head coach became fully aware that the winger would not only miss the Valencia game, but might not make it for next week’s UCL clash vs Newcastle United.

That was when Flick went from perplexity to anger and indignation, making it very clear that he would not remain silent in the press conference.
Flick requested that the media appearance be limited to twelve questions (as it was), and he was harsh with the Spanish Football Federation when asked why Lamine had not trained with the team.
The German is a direct person who rarely hides his feelings. He was clearly hurt, stating that the winger was already injured and yet the Spain coach, Luis de la Fuente, had played him for 79 and 73 minutes against Bulgaria and Turkey, respectively.
Flick, who has experience as Germany’s national coach, is particularly sensitive to relations between federations and clubs.
On this occasion, he felt that he was not treated fairly by those responsible at the Spanish national team, with whom until now there had been a smoother relationship.
