As Barcelona prepare for a potentially title-winning El Clasico against Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou, Hansi Flick said that his attention is fully focused on Barcelona’s performance rather than the growing chaos surrounding their rivals.

The German manager addressed several key topics ahead of the decisive La Liga clash, including Real Madrid’s dressing room tensions, the threat posed by Kylian Mbappe and the importance of team unity.

When asked whether the current situation at Real Madrid changes anything ahead of the Clasico, Flick insisted that Barcelona are concentrating only on themselves.

“We have to play and perform. That’s what I want to see. We’ve had a fantastic season as a team and that’s what I want to see tomorrow.

“Everyone wants to see the best match LaLiga has to offer. The world will be watching, but ultimately it’s down to us. I want to see a team; that’s what I want to see tomorrow. We’re focused.”

Troubles at Real Madrid

Despite reports of internal problems involving Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, Flick does not believe Real Madrid will become an easier opponent.

Speaking about the challenge of facing Madrid, he said, “We want to win at home. We have a fantastic team and the fans are behind us.

“It’s a Clásico for them too, and they’ll want to win. That’s only natural.

“At the end of the day, El Clásico is important for everyone – for them and for us. We’re playing at home and we want to win.”

When pressed further about internal conflicts at Real Madrid, the Barcelona boss added,

“It happens all over the world. Not just at Real. I was a bit surprised, but I don’t mind. It’s not my club. It’s not my team. I don’t think about it.”

Flick also reserved huge praise for Mbappe, describing the French superstar as one of the biggest threats in world football despite the fact that he will not be available tomorrow.

“Mbappe is one of the best in the world. He has incredible quality. He’s a real threat in any situation. In front of goal, with his quality, he’s the best in my opinion.”

La Liga within reach

Barcelona are now on the verge of winning a second consecutive La Liga title under Flick, something the German coach sees as a major achievement for such a young team.

“I think winning La Liga twice is a huge achievement for us. We’re not there yet. We’re close, but we want to take that final step.”

The Barcelona manager also reflected on the importance of the Clasico itself while refusing to label it the biggest game of his career.

“I want to focus on the match. It’s not a normal match. But I’m not going to say it’s the most important one.

“It’s important for the fans, the club, the players and us. We want to win a second title in a row. That’s not normal in Spain.

“That’s what we want to do. We’re focusing on our performance, on how we want to play.”

The German manager then explained how communication and unity remain essential inside his own squad.

“The most important thing, and what I appreciate most about this club, is that we’re all on the same page.

“When something happens, we’re all on the same wavelength. These things happen in football, in life. It’s not normal, but it happens.

“It’s better to communicate. That’s the first thing. That’s how we do it.”

Egos kill success

Flick also addressed the idea that ego can damage success within top teams.

“I don’t want to talk about Real Madrid and what goes on there; it’s not my job. But it’s true, it’s all about the team. The ‘we’. From my point of view, that’s important.”

Finally, the Barcelona coach highlighted the special atmosphere created by the club’s La Masia graduates, many of whom have grown together through the academy system.

“The bond between them all is incredible. They’ve known each other for many years and it’s brilliant. But the atmosphere they create is something truly special.

“When you think about winning a second title with such a young team. The attitude they show every day.

“It won’t be easy to pick a starting XI tomorrow because almost everyone is back and they’ve all performed at an incredible level,” he concluded.
