Jhon Arias is officially on his way to the Premier League. Fluminense have confirmed the Colombian midfielder is joining Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 27-year-old departs after three standout years at Flu, where he became a fan favourite and played a vital role in one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history.
His final appearance came in Thursday’s loss to Cruzeiro at the Maracanã - a quiet end to what has been an impressive spell in the Tricolor shirt.
Though the Brazilian club didn’t disclose financial details, reports from Brazil suggest Wolves are paying €22 million (approx. £14.1m) for 90% of Arias’s economic rights. Fluminense will receive €16 million (approx. £10.3m) and will retain a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer.
Since arriving from Colombian side Santa Fe in 2021, Arias made 230 appearances for Fluminense, scoring 47 goals and providing 55 assists. He was instrumental in their recent silverware haul, helping the club lift the Copa Libertadores, Recopa Sudamericana, and two Campeonato Carioca titles.
