Phil Foden says he was emotional seeing the goodbye of two City legends that helped his journey from the Academy to becoming an important first team player.
John Stones and Bernardo Silva played their final game in a City shirt on the last day of the season on Sunday in front of a record Etihad crowd before their farewell on the pitch.
There were plenty of tears from the two players as well as the fans and boss Pep Guardiola who also took charge of his final game after an extraordinary decade of success.
Both Stones and Bernardo were an important part of the City squad when Foden broke into the first team in the 2017/18 season and since the trio have gone on to win another 18 trophies.

“I was really emotional before the game, to see two legends of the Club going isn’t easy. Especially sharing the changing room with them since I was a young age,” Foden said on the bus parade through the streets of Manchester.
“They are two massive players that have helped me when I was coming through from the Academy and when I took my first steps into the first team they were always there for me.
“It’s been really emotional and they’re going to be a big miss next season.
“All I can say is that from the bottom of my heart it’s been a pleasure to play with them and I love them so much. It’s going to be difficult without them.”
For Stockport-born Foden who came through the Academy at such a young age, its always a special moment to celebrate success with the supporters.
City celebrated lifting the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup this season to take our trophy haul to an incredible total of 20 in 10 years.
And the 25-year-old said he is also grateful to the fans who have given him so much support.

“It’s been an amazing season, the new players have come in and done really well,” he said.
“The team’s been brilliant this year, obviously fighting for three trophies and we managed to get two. So overall we can be happy with the season and how it’s gone.
“I’m so proud, especially of how the fans supported me through the hard times and how they had my back in the game the other day and always singing my name. It honestly means a lot.”
