Liverpool’s January has been quiet under Arne Slot, signing Mor Talla Ndiaye for £1m, yet a Football Manager 26 projection points to three additions and a sale while Mohamed Salah stays.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the simulation has Ederson arriving from Atalanta for £50m, Hiroki Ito from Bayern Munich for £26m and Alisson from Shakhtar Donetsk for £18m.
This season’s £415m outlay coincides with a four-place drop and a 15-point deficit, and 35 points at this stage last season would have meant joint-seventh with Manchester City.
Ito swapped Stuttgart for Bayern last season but two metatarsal fractures limited him to 16 outings. With Ibrahima Konate set to leave for free in the summer, one centre-back alone may not convince.
Alisson is earmarked as Salah’s right-sided successor. Electric off the dribble at Atletico Mineiro yet short on end product, he has one league goal and one assist in his first full European season but retains threat and sell-on value.
Ederson would be the costliest at 26, a balanced midfielder without standout traits. £50m is hefty for a muddled midfield, though fresh competition could aid Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister.
Wataru Endo is tipped to join Paris Saint-Germain for £12m, having played under 250 minutes and with 18 months left on his deal.
Loans are also forecast, including Rio Ngumoha to Swansea City and Stefan Bajcetic to Millwall after more than 600 days out. Luke Chambers to Preston North End, Trey Nyoni to Wrexham, Trent Kone-Doherty to Colchester United and Calum Scanlon to Lincoln City are also mooted.
