Nottingham Forest finally ended their Premier League winless run, claiming Sean Dyche’s first victory with a deserved 3-1 win over Leeds United.
The Whites struck first in the early stages when Brenden Aaronson’s clever pass found Lukas Nmecha, who fired low past Matz Sels to give the visitors an early advantage.
Forest, however, responded immediately. Ibrahim Sangaré reacted quickest to a parried Dan Ndoye cross and rifled home his first goal for the club to level the scores.
The hosts dominated large portions of the second half but had to wait until the 68th minute to go in front. Substitute Omari Hutchinson’s delivery from the right found captain Morgan Gibbs-White, who cleverly guided a header beyond Lucas Perri to make it 2-1.
Forest wrapped up the win in stoppage time after Hutchinson was fouled inside the box by Jack Harrison, allowing Elliot Anderson to calmly convert the resulting penalty and seal all three points.
Forest remain 19th but move to within a point of safety, taking confidence from a performance that showcased their determination and resilience, while Leeds stay 16th.
